- David Carson tribute
Bag: This one is pretty self explanatory…it’s a bag
Dali: This was part of a series of projects where I attempted to use the styles of traditional artists and bring them to the digital world. This one is supposed to be bubbles and within the bubbles is a face blowing a bubble. It’s a little hard to see, but it’s there.
Eiffel Tower: This is an illustration I did after visiting Paris. The only thing digital about it is that I added a hue of color…the rest was done with old fashioned graphite.
Jack: Ok…so most of you are probably thinking “wow..what a cliche…a child holding a flower.” I was just playing around with photo combinations to see how it would turn out.
Tai Menu: This was just a menu concept for a restaurant that doesn’t exist.
Stamps: Also pretty self explanatory.
Panels: In another art class I studied the artist, Alexander Sutulov. You should look him up…he’s amazing. With this piece what I did was just use parts of his process to create something of my own. His pieces are much more complicated. This was just a rough partial process piece.
Wicked: A concept for an alternative book cover. I realize it looks a lot like the poster.
Church: This is a piece that I am determined to finish one day. I haven’t quite figured out how to make it look the way I want it to yet. This is pretty much just a blue print right now. What it is intended to be when finished is the outside of a church “painted” on the inside of that same church. When I finally finish, I will post the final product.
David Carson: My first introduction to the world of grunge. David Carson is a fascinating typographer so this was kind of an homage to him.
